Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee football program continues to get the job done on the recruiting trail. The program is starting to own the Southern states.

Another day means another recruit for the Tennessee football program. This time it is Jalil Clemons the DE/LB for Mississippi.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder is a part of the 2019 class that now has the Vols ranked 18th in the nation. Clemons visited Tennessee on Saturday and made his decision rather quickly.

Clemons picked the Vols over Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and a few others. According to 247Sports composite, Clemons is nationally ranked 651 and 25th in the state of Mississippi.

Clemons doesn’t fit the description of a bigger physical player that Pruitt and company are looking for. He is a smaller type of player but is a great sideline to sideline player that was good speed and even better hands. Take a look at his highlight video.

One thing you can’t teach is speed, but one thing you can do is help players get bigger and stronger. In a college workout program that is what Clemons will do.

With the workout and weightlifting programs, Clemons should play around 285 and could turn out to be a dominant defensive lineman for the Vols in the future.

He has one more year to grow on the high school level before officially signing with Tennessee next year. Of course, it is recruiting, and a lot can happen from now to signing day. Now, that the Vols have offered the floodgates will open on his recruitment. It’s just how these things work.

However, for the time being, it’s another recruit and another win for the Tennessee football program. If Pruitt and staff can continue to recruit at this level, the Vols might just find themselves with a top ten recruiting class for the 2019 season.
