The praise for Jeremy Pruitt continues on Thursday at SEC Media Days. For Tennessee fans, this has to be a nice change from Butch Jones.

No longer is Tennessee’s football coach the laughing stock of the nation. The 2018 SEC Media Days have been better than expected for Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee football program. Every day a different coach had nothing but good things to say about Tennessee’s first-year head coach.

South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp is the latest to praise Pruitt. Muschamp mentioned that he thinks Pruitt will do an outstanding job at Tennessee. He also gave a little shoutout to how well the Vols are doing in recruiting by saying, “I know one thing; they’re hard on the recruiting trail.”

At the current moment, the Vols rank 18th in the nation for the 2019 recruiting class, which is only two spots behind Muschamp and the Gamecocks. However, South Carolina has a total of 16 commits to Tennessee’s 14.

Like Pruitt, Muschamp had the opportunity to coach under Saban, and it appears to be paying off. In his third year, he has his Gamecocks as the trendy pick to finish second in the Eastern division of the SEC.

At this rate, Pruitt would likely win a popularity contest among the SEC coaches. Nick Saban, Jimbo Fisher, and Kirby Smart are among the other coaches that had good things to say about Pruitt. Maybe it’s because the Vols went 0-8 last season, or perhaps it’s because he is such a likable guy.

Despite all the positive vibes from the week, there is always someone that has negative things to say. However, even those negative comments have turned into a positive for Pruitt and the program.

When was the last time we were able to say that about Tennessee? Butch Jones had a way about him that no matter how favorable the situation was, it somehow always turned into a negative for the football program.

Things are different now in Volnation. However, it will be interesting to see just how long the praise continues if the Vols become a dominant force in the SEC.
