Tennessee football is in the top 10 for five-star offensive lineman Darnell Wright, and there is news on two more players visiting the Volunteers.

Earlier in the week, Tennessee football added its 15th commitment to the 2019 recruiting class. The Vols made even more gains on this front as the weekend began to approach, and they got good indicators on two levels Thursday.

The first is that they made the cut for five-star offensive lineman Darnell Wright. The Huntington, W. Va. prospect listed his top 10 on Thursday on Twitter, and UT made it in. Standing at 6’6″ 300 pounds, Rivals has Wright as the No. 2 ranked player overall nationally and the No. 1 offensive lineman.

Tennessee football is in the top 10 with the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Clemson Tigers, the Florida State Seminoles, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Miami Hurricanes, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the USC Trojans. However, the 247Sports Crystal Ball originally had it coming down to four teams: Ohio State, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and yes, Tennessee.

With VT not in the top 10, it’s now Ohio State, Alabama and the Vols. And although OSU is the favorite, there are some people predicting that he’ll land on Rocky Top. That would be a huge boost for the Vols, who already have a five-star offensive lineman.

Four-star athlete visiting Vols this weekend

More from Vols Football

Zion Puckett, a four-star out of Griffin, Ga. who plays wide receiver and defensive back, will be visiting Knoxville this weekend, according to Volquest. Puckett is a four-star athlete on Rivals and ranked a Top 20 athlete nationally.

Tennessee football is not as much in the running for Puckett as other SEC schools, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball. All the predictions there have him going to the Auburn Tigers. On top of that, the South Carolina Gamecocks, Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes appear to have more favor with him.

However, getting him to Knoxville could be good for the Vols. Maybe they’ll make a jump, especially with Jeremy Pruitt’s ability to recruit Georgia players. That actually makes this visit a big deal for UT.

Four-star defensive end visiting Vols again

Tennessee football got even more good news on Thursday with the update that Khris Bogle will visit them again. Bogle, a four-star on Rivals, revealed on his Twitter page that he was back in Knoxville visiting Rocky Top. It’s his third visit since April, according to Ryan Callahan of GoVols247.

A weakside defensive end, Tennessee football could use Bogle as an edge rusher at linebacker or on the end. Given Jeremy Pruitt’s and Kevin Sherrer’s style, he’d likely play linebacker, but that gives him a great chance to thrive.

At 6’5″ 215 pounds, Bogle comes from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has UT in his top three with the Alabama Crimson Tide and Miami Hurricanes, but Miami is a heavy favorite. On top of that, the Louisville Cardinals are also in play. So it’s going to be a fight to get him. But another visit is great news for the Vols.
