No.4 – Jarrett Guarantano will pass for 2,000 yards

Coming in at fourth on our bold predictions is Jarrett Guarantano will pass for 2,000 yards. I know what you are thinking, ‘there is absolutely no way Guarantano passes for 2,000 yards.’ At the current moment, we are not sure he will even be the starting quarterback.

Think back to last season on how much the offense struggled. It was not because of Guarantano. He was 86-for139 for 997 passing yards with a 61.9 completion percentage. He also protected the ball reasonably well with only two interceptions.

He had two games last season that showed his SEC level potential. Against the Kentucky Wildcats, he threw for 242 yards on 23 attempts for a 78.3% completion percentage. Another game against LSU, Guarantano threw for 239 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.

You never know what a coaching change can do for a quarterback. In 2008, Jonathan Crompton threw for 889 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions. However, under Lane Kiffin in 2009, he threw for 2,800 yards with 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

2,000 is a lot of yards, but not too much. Last year as a team, every that attempted a pass threw for 2,084 yards. We would not be surprised if Guarantano threw for around 2,500 yards.
