No.5 – Kalon Beverly, Senior Defensive Back

Kalon Beverly was a three-star cornerback from New Orleans, LA. He had other offers from Houston, Memphis, Southern Miss, and a handful of other school but he ended up with the Miners.

More from All for Tennessee

Over the past three seasons, Beverly has been as consistent as it gets. He played in nine games as a freshman and accounted for 40 total tackles with 26 of those being solo. He also had an interception returned for a 24-yard touchdown.

His Sophmore season was much of the same. 24 solo tackles and a total of 41 tackles. Beverly also added an interception; only he didn’t return it for a touchdown.

Last season was the first season he played in all 12 games. However that didn’t translate to more production. Beverly still ended the season with just 44 tackles.

Beverly is one of the leaders of the defense and should pose a pretty decent challenge to the very talented group of Volunteer receivers.

I like Tennessee receivers to have a big day but don’t be surprised if Beverly is apart of a big play or two. He already has an interception on the season with one pass deflection.
