No.5 – Vols will play Alabama to a 14-point game

Through five games this season the Vols are 2-3. In there three losses that haven’t had much luck with keeping the games close. The season started off with a 40-14 loss to West Virginia. After a decent first half of football, 13-7 WVU at the half, the game got out of hand.

More from All for Tennessee

In the first conference game of the season, the Vols took a 47-21 butt-kicking to the Florida Gators. The win gave the Gators 15 win in the annual series since 2002.

And finally, this past Saturday the Vols traveled down to Athens for their first conference road game, which they lost 38-12.

Georiga didn’t play their best but credit the Vols for hanging around in a 12-point game in the fourth quarter.

Tennessee hasn’t beat Alabama since the 2006 season, and that probably isn’t changing this year.

Alabama is once again ranked No.1 in the nation, and their offense looks like the best Saban has ever had.

The Crimson Tide has outscored their opponents 271-65. Their closest game was a 45-23 win against Texas A&M.

So everything is pointing to at least a 20-point loss, right? Probably so, however, for our first bold prediction, the Vols will play Alabama to a 14-point game.

Tennessee is gaining momentum from the Georiga game. After the bye week, they travel to Auburn who might not be as good as that top ten ranking suggests. With all the momentum, development, and the fact Pruitt knows a lot about the Crimson Tide, the Vols will keep this game close.
