Tennessee football: 5 Missouri Tigers to watch for against the Tennessee Volunteers
The Missouri offensive attack is something special, but we have to give credit where credit is due. Cale Garrett the junior linebacker is having a great season. In fact, he ranks in the top five of the SEC in total tackles with 86.
The Vanderbilt game was a bit of a let down considering he had a four-game streak with ten tackles or more. It started with the game against Alabama with 12 total tackles. He followed that up with an 11 total tackle, 10 solo game against the Memphis Tigers. He had 14 against Kentucky which was a season-high for the junior linebacker.
You don’t typically think of Missouri as a defensive team and don’t get me wrong they aren’t. But, they did have back-to-back games where they held Kentucky and Florida below 20 points. If you watched the game against the Wildcats, you would know they had a punt return for a touchdown, and a late scored to win them the game.
Tennessee’s offense hasn’t been fantastic in recent weeks, but they can score some points. Missouri is giving up 410 yards per game and has given up 32 touchdowns. Quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has proved he can make plays on an SEC level and he should be able to have another good game against the Tigers.
