1. Where will the Vols top targets go?

And here’s the one everybody cares about the most. What will happen to the top Tennessee football targets set to make their decisions during the Early Signing Period? We’re obviously talking of ones we know will commit.

More from All for Tennessee

For the Vols, this includes four-star running back Noah Cain out of Bradenton, Fla., four-star running back Eric Gray out of Memphis, three-star linebacker Jamie Pettway out of Albany, Ga., and junior college defensive end Nick Figueroa out of Riverside City College in Riverside, Calif. Of all of those, Gray is the only one the Vols are a favorite to land.

However, any of these guys would be amazing pickups. With Madre London now gone, running back depth is clearly an issue, especially when it comes to power backs. So Cain or Gray would be great for the Vols, and that makes them great candidates.

Meanwhile, Pettway adds to linebacker depth, and Figueroa provides more immediate help on a defensive line that loses all of its starters. UT appears to be competing with the USC Trojans for Figueroa, so he and Gray are the two most likely pickups.

Cain is set to announce at 11 a.m. Wednesday, while Figueroa is set to announce at 2 p.m. Gray, the favorite of these guys, will announce at 1 p.m. Thursday. So we’ll have our answeres with these guys soon enough.

Tennessee football isn’t going to get everybody it needs in the early signing period this year like it did last year. Whether or not that’s good or bad news still remains to be seen. But with a commitment from one of these guys, a flip somewhere and maybe a splash bit of news, the Vols could be in great position heading to February. So a lot can happen for Jeremy Pruitt over the next couple of days.
