Zach Fulton has not failed to make an immediate impact signing with the Houston Texans. He and Ja’Wuan James were missed after Tennessee football had to replace both of them in 2014, and Fulton continues to be a staple of playoff success.

Blocking for Deshaun Watson and a balanced offense that Bill O’Brien has been hoping to install, Fulton had his hands more full this year than he ever did blocking for Alex Smith. But it’s worked out to this point.
Houston has a Top 10 rushing offense, and Fulton has helped Watson come back and Lamar Miller shine. Simply put, there’s no way to ignore the fact that Fulton has been one of the most effective former Vols on the offensive line in the NFL in recent years, and he continues to show that this year.
If you want to know his impact, the Texans had 89 yards rushing and only three and a half yards per carry against the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 9, with Fulton hurt. Watson was sacked five times. Fulton spent the next two weeks getting fully healthy.
Then, in the final game of the regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars Fulton played every snap. Houston rushed for over four yards a carry, picking up over 134 yards on the ground. Sure, the Jaguars are a worse team, but they have elite talent up front on defense. So that was highly impressive. And Fulton will be a valuable piece in the NFL Playoffs.
