More from Vols Football

Now we get to the three-stars with a ton of potential but ones whose rating you can explain away. The first is Melvin McBride, an offensive line prospect out of Memphis who committed to Tennessee football back in August.

McBride is only a three-star recruit, and there are concerns with the 6’4″ 310-pound guard from Whitehaven High School. Memphis prospects have already been overrated recently, and people don’t want to do that too much.

But the biggest reason for McBride being a three-star in spite of his impressive size is his experience. When the Vols offered McBride, he had only played one year of football. Now, heading into college, he only has two years of experience.

Loaded with size and strength, McBride drew a ton of interest from other SEC schools as a result. The potential is through the roof, and that’s why we have him so high on this list. This is what recruiting is about.
