1. SEC race tightens up

The LSU Tigers are rolling through SEC play and find themselves tied at the top of the standings with Tennessee.

More from All for Tennessee

LSU is coming off a 2-0 week that included a two-point win over Kentucky in Rupp Arena. The remaining schedule looks favorable for the Tigers. They only play one team projected in the NCAA tournament which is Tennessee on Saturday in Baton Rouge.

Following the loss in Rupp Arena, the Vols fall to 11-1 in conference play and as we mentioned now tied with LSU. Unlike the Tigers, the Vols still have a few very difficult test remaining. Of course, they travel to LSU on Saturday, but still have to play Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Auburn.

Don’t count out the Wildcats to sneak away with a regular season SEC Championship. The win against the Vols put them just one game back with a rematch coming in Knoxville in a couple of weeks. Other than that, the Cats should cruise through their remaining games.

We wrote about chaos happening last week, and it appears to be that’s what is going to happen. It’s unlikely, but Ole Miss could win the rest of their games and make a play at the Championship as well.

This time next week we should know if the Vols are a pretender or contender. If they lose to LSU, you could probably count out any chance for an SEC regular season title.
