Tennessee football beefed up its inside linebackers with the additions of four-star athlete Quavaris Crouch and four-star Henry To’oto’o. Those were huge gets by Jeremy Pruitt, and he deserves a ton of credit for it.

Thanks to such recruiting, Pruitt was at least able to build up some depth this year at the position and prepare for the future. But still, with Darrin Kirkland Jr. and Daniel Bituli set to be gone after 2019, the Vols won’t have any proven players at the position.

As a result, UT needs to add guys who can create competition when those two along with JJ Peterson, Shanon Reid and Will Ignont have limited experience. That’s where a guy like Bryson Eason comes in.

Another West Tennessee prospect, Eason comes out of Memphis, specifically Whitehaven. The four-star already stands at 6’2″ 230 pounds, so he fits Pruitt’s mold, which is about finding extremely big and physical guys for their positions to dominate their opponents.

Earliest reports show the Vols among the favorites to land Eason, but they are so preliminary that we can’t take those seriously. Pruitt and his staff will have to work to secure Eason, but with guys like David Johnson and Chris Rumph, they already have solid and direct connections to the Memphis area to secure players like Eason. So there’s no excuse to let him get away.
