Yes, the guy who could most likely leave Tennessee football for the XFL has not even arrived on campus yet. But this is more a test run about what could happen on the recruiting trail with the XFL calling next year.

More from All for Tennessee

Will they go for five-star prospects out of high school, not just guys who shine in college as freshmen and sophomores? If they do, Darnell Wright would have already been one of the guys they heavily target.

A five-star offensive tackle who is a top 20 player nationally and a top 5 player at his position, Wright is one of those rare talents teams would be begging for if they could get him. He’s a recruit who seems like a sure bet.

At 6’6″ 300 pounds, Wright is already a favorite to start for the Vols somewhere on the line with so much help needed on the offensive line. We already discussed that when mentioning Wanya Morris on this list.

Well, Wright is a rare enough talent that even without the benefit of spring ball, which Morris enjoyed as an early enrollee, he’s being looked at to help save the line. And there’s reason to believe he can do just that.

Knowing the value Wright could potentially provide, it would be crazy for the XFL to not come calling for players like him next year. And that means he could be done with Tennessee football after one year. Raw talent alone is why we have Wright as the player most likely to leave the Vols early for the XFL next year.
