In a span of 24 hours, Tennessee football recruiting offers were announced for three different classes. The Volunteers offered three wide receivers.

With four seniors and two juniors in the wide receiver rotation, Tennessee football is about to need a lot more help at that position. Well, over the course of 24 hours, Jeremy Pruitt went to work trying to build up the class.

The Vols offered three separate prospects who play wide receiver in high school in three different classes: 2020, 2021 and 2022. All of these offers were made public between late Thursday night and Friday afternoon.

Mississippi prospect Isaiah Brevard was the first to announce. Brevard, who is a prospect for 2021, is not yet rated on 247Sports and not even listed on Rivals yet. But at 6’3″ 180 pounds, he already provides great size.

Brevard comes from Southaven High School in Southaven, Miss., which is right outside of Memphis. So this is perfect for Jeremy Pruitt to keep the pipeline going into that region. He announced the Vols’ offer on Twitter Thursday night.

Following the Brevard offer, Tennessee football went from Mississippi to Canada. The Vols offered Malick Meiga out of Montrael for their 2020 class. A three-star on Rivals, Meiga provides even better size at 6’4″ 190 pounds.

Also, he’s a more immediate addition, so he’s more proven. And he runs a 4.42 40-time, so he’s got elite speed. Given Josh Palmer, the Vols already have experience with success at receiver using guys from Canada. So you could see why Pruitt would turn there again. Vol Recruiting Reports announced the offer initially.

Finally, Jeremy Pruitt turned his focus way down the line to 2022. He went from Mississippi to Canada and back into the state with this one, offering Taylor Groves out of Cross Plains, Tenn., which is right outside of Nashville.

Groves is not yet rated, but he is already listed on Rivals and 247Sports. And after just finishing up his freshman year in high school, he already stands at 6’2″ 175 pounds. There’s a great chance he adds more size quickly, which would make him a very unique prospect. Like Brevard, Groves also announced the Vols’ offer on Twitter.

Whether or not any of these players commits to Tennessee football remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say this is proof of how Pruitt is willing to recruit. He will go all the way to Canada to get talent but make sure at the same time he closes off the state and the suburban counties just outside of the state.

Given the immediate openings coming at receiver, Pruitt will likely be focusing heavily on that position in the near future. Adding Jerrod Means and Ramel Keyton in the 2019 class was a huge deal, but the Vols can do better. Pruitt knows that, and it’s why he’s heavily targeting multiple guys down the line.
