Tennessee football is recruiting even beyond 2020 now. The Volunteers offered offensive lineman Blake Fisher out of Avon, Ind.

Jeremy Pruitt spent the 2019 recruiting session desperately trying to beef up the offensive line. But he’s not settling. The trenches remain a focus for Tennessee football in the 2020 and 2021 recruiting classes as well.

As a result, the Vols are looking everywhere, and they aren’t just focused on 2020. UT offered a 2021 prospect from the Midwest on Tuesday. They went to Indiana to offer an offensive tackle in Blake Fisher.

Coming from Avon High School in Avon, Ind., Fisher is attracting offers from all over the country. That is the case despite the fact that he doesn’t yet have a rating on Rivals. He announced Tennessee football’s offer to him on Twitter.

Standing at 6’6″ 330 pounds already, Fisher clearly brings a very unique size to the program. He is listed as an offensive tackle on Rivals and 247Sports, and despite no rating on either, the current 247Sports Composite rating has him as a four-star. Here is a look at his highlight reel.

As you can see, he has the necessary athleticism despite his size to be able to block downfield as well. Adding in the fact that he can line up at defensive tackle because of that size gives him a level of versatility that many linemen may not have.

So Fisher already has great size, he has a level of versatility and athleticism rarely seen at the high school level, and the Vols are getting in on him early. Sure, Indiana has questionable competition, but Big Ten country always produces elite linemen.

It will be an uphill climb for Tennessee football to land him, though. Right now, the Rivals FanFutureCast has the Purdue Boilermakers as the favorite to land him by a plurality, and the general FutureCast has the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as the favorite by 100 percent. Notre Dame is also a 100 percent favorite among three predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Simply put, there’s a clear favorite. However, the Vols certainly have a chance to make an impact with a solid 2019 season. After all, Fisher is a 2021 prospect, so Pruitt has plenty of time to make his impact. And the fact that he’s been willing to go national while focusing on big guys for the trenches means he will not go lightly pursuing Fisher.
