Tennessee football vs. Chattanooga Mocs: Vols live stream, game time, TV info
Jeremy Pruitt’s second team is looking for its first win as Tennessee football hosts UT Chattanooga. Here is our preview for the Volunteers and Mocs.
Can they finally break through? Tennessee football hosts an old rivalry on Saturday, as a Southern Conference FCS team comes to town. Maybe this is the break Jeremy Pruitt’s team needs to get things back on track.
The Chattanooga Mocs visit the Vols with a 1-1 record under first-year head coach Rusty Wright. They won their first game against Eastern Illinois but lost last week to Jacksonville State. Against a struggling Vols team, they’ll be looking to cash in.
Meanwhile, Tennessee football is 0-2. The Vols suffered one of the worst upset losses in school history to the Georgia State Panthers to open the season and then falling to the BYU Cougars in an overtime heartbreaker in Week Two.
A team that was excited about potentially winning eight games at the beginning of the season is now in danger of going 2-10 or 1-11. And if they lose this game, 0-12 becomes a strong likelihood. Here is all the information you need for Saturday’s outing.
Chattanooga Mocs at Tennessee Volunteers
When: Saturday, Sept. 14 at Noon E.T.
Where: Neyland Stadium; Knoxville, Tenn.
TV: SEC Network

One big plus for Tennessee football is the return of Daniel Bituli at linebacker. They have developed there but still had major issues. Cornerback Bryce Thompson was also reinstated, but that doesn’t mean he will play today since he hadn’t practiced with the team for two weeks.

Jarrett Guarantano, meanwhile, is under a lot of pressure to perform this week after struggling last week. For the first time, there is a loud chorus of fans who want him benched. What makes it worse is on Saturday, his counterpart Nick Tiano, is a top FCS NFL Draft prospect at quarterback.
On the offensive and defensive lines, there is development, but issues remain with such inexperienced talent. So there are likely going to continue to be growing pains, and this is a good game for them to work out some of their problems.
There are numerous other positives for the Vols, though. Most notable among them is place-kicker Brent Cimaglia, who is seven-of-seven on field goals and has made a 51-yarder, a 40-yarder, and a 48-yarder. Also, Ty Chandler, Jauan Jennings and Eric Gray have all emerged as playmakers for Rocky Top.
Simply put, despite the fact that they are hosting an FCS program, this is a huge game for the Vols. They can’t take any game lightly anymore and have to make sure they are ready to play in their final non-conference outing before SEC play.
