Tennessee Lady Vols 2019-2020 preview: Frontcourt
Final take
Honestly, despite losing their two biggest contributors strictly in the postgame from last year, Cheridene Green and Mimi Collins, the Tennessee Lady Vols may have taken a step forward. And that’s a good sign for Kellie Harper.

Collins and Kamera Harris were Holly Warlick’s only options as true four players last year, which is why Rennia Davis played there. However, even with Collins gone, Harris is still there. Meanwhile, Lou Brown is healthy, and Jaiden McCoy was added as a junior college player. So UT is actually deeper at the four-spot this year.
Meanwhile, the loss of Green is also complement with another year of experience for Kasiyahna Kushkituah and the addition of two new recruits at center, including a five-star in Tamari Key. With Emily Saunders as the other center, Harper has more options at that position than Warlick did last year as well.
It depends on whether or not Harper wants to play small again, as she’s got a few new guards as well. But UT has many more options in the post as a whole, and lots of those options are young players who could develop with Harper in her first year. You can’t ask for a better situation in taking over this program.
Because of all of these factors, the inside game is still a question, but it’s not as much of a question as the guard play for the Tennessee Lady Vols. And it’s almost likely that this group actually improves over last year. That’s a great reason for excitement.
