Tennessee football: Five UAB Blazers to watch for against Vols
1. Kristopher Moll
Linebacker; Junior
6’1″ 215 pounds
While Tony Fair may get the push with Garrett Marino making splash plays up front to be the driving force of the UAB Blazers’ front seven, and while Jordan Smith takes advantage around the edge, Kristopher Moll is the star. And it’s not even close.

As the key inside linebacker for Bill Clark’s system, Moll is the top playmaker in every way for the Blazers. He is what Daniel Bituli has been for Tennessee football in recent weeks ever since Bituli’s return to health, but Moll is even more of a playmaker as he pretty much does all the specific things other different linebackers are designated to do.
Moll leads the team in tackles with 51 and solo tackles with 32. He also joins Fair in leading the team in forced fumbles, as he has two. And then there are his splash plays. The guy has three and a half sacks, tied for second on the team, and eight tackles for a loss overall. Oh, and he has a pass deflection and fumble recovery.
Simply put, there is nothing that anybody in the front seven has done that Moll hasn’t done. And the only UAB defender period to do something that Moll hasn’t matched production-wise is Will Boler with his one interception. But Moll is a major playmaker all the way around, and there’s no denying his impact.
Tennessee football has to keep an eye on everybody on the UAB defense this week and in particular the front seven. But nobody will be more crucial to watch out for than Moll. As a result, he tops this list. If UAB wins, Moll will have made multiple big plays in the game.
