Ranking the five most important Tennessee Lady Vols for 2019-2020
Is there any surprise here? Rennia Davis combined with the center combination is why we didn’t feel the need to put either of the fours, Lou Brown or Jaiden McCoy, on here, even if they could provide value this year.

Last year, Davis joined Evina Westbrook in co-leading the team in scoring, so she clearly has expectations to step up this year and be the all-around scorer. After all, she averaged nearly 15 points a game and over seven and a half rebounds while shooting 37 percent from the three-point line. You can’t replace efficient scoring at that level.
In the Tennessee Lady Vols’ exhibition last week, Davis did not disappoint, becoming one of only two players to score in double-figures. Ironically, her backup wing player, Rae Burrell, was the other one, suggesting that this position could end up being extremely deep, a very good sign for new head coach Kellie Harper.
At 6’2″, Davis can play the four or the three, and she gives Harper the option of going small. That’s what Holly Warlick did with her the past two years, so there’s no reason to believe it can’t happen again. The key is just making sure Davis gets as many touches as possible, as she is clearly the best player on the team.
Davis and Westbrook were the future of the Tennessee Lady Vols two years ago, but with Westbrook gone, the team is all Davis’s. She is clearly the best player this year, and with a new head coach, she is far and away the most important as well.
