After huge win at Notre Dame, the Tennessee Lady Vols return home. The UT women’s basketball Volunteers face the Tennessee State University Lady Tigers.

Kellie Harper’s team is back home Thursday night with a 3-0 record thanks to their major upset against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the road Monday. The Tennessee Lady Vols will host the TSU Lady Tigers for just their second home game of the year.

With two road victories already under their belt, UT has a chance to crack the AP and Coaches’ Polls next week should they win Thursday night. They are already receiving votes in both of them, and the Notre Dame victory, a top 25 win, should propel them into the rankings. But they have to beat TSU.

This is just the second game for UT without Zaay Green, whose season-ending injury was revealed just hours before their last game. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ Thursday night matchup.

So far, UT’s only home game was a dominant 63-36 win over the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears. This is the first of a six-game home stand for the Tennessee Lady Vols that will last through Dec. 11. After this they will host the Stetson Hatters, the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, the Air Force Falcons, the Texas Longhorns and the Colorado State Rams.

Their next home game is a trip to the Stanford Cardinal on Dec. 18, and they follow that up with a game at the Portland State Vikings on Saturday, Dec. 21. But for now, their only focus needs to be on Tennessee State.

After all, this is a team that nearly lost to the East Tennessee State Buccaneers on the road in their opener. If the ETSU Bucs can catch them off guard, there’s a chance the TSU Lady Tigers can do the same thing.

TSU is in its third year under head coach Jessica Kern and is coming off a 5-25 season, which followed a 6-21 season her first year there. This year, they only have two starters back from a year ago. But they are 1-0 after winning their opener 83-65 over Wilberforce last Friday.
