Tennessee football vs. Vanderbilt: Vols live stream, game time, TV and radio
With a four-game winning streak, Tennessee football will look to finish with a winning record. Here is our preview for the Volunteers and Vandy Commodores.
They started 0-2 with home losses to Group of Five schools. Then they fell to 1-4 on the year. But with a dramatic rebound, Tennessee football marches into the final game of the regular season with a 6-5 record and chance to finish with a winning record for the first time since 2016.
The Vols have the chance to match their best SEC record, 5-3, since Phillip Fulmer’s last season in 2008. They only had that record in 2015. In order to do that, they will have to defeat the second worst team in the league, the Vanderbilt Commodores.
UT and Vandy will play at the same time Tennessee basketball faces the VCU Rams in the consolation game of the Emerald Coast Classic. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee football’s regular season finale.

Vanderbilt comes into this game having won three straight against the Vols, something they hadn’t done since before the days of Robert Neyland. However, at 3-8, their only SEC win is over the Missouri Tigers at home. The administration did confirm, though, that Derek Mason will be back for another season in 2020.

This is the first time Rocky Top has been a favorite in SEC games ever since Jeremy Pruitt took over the program. This year, the Vols are 2-2 as favorites and 4-3 as underdogs. However, part of the reason they were underdogs in so many games is due to their two losses to open the year.
Over the last two games, Pruitt’s team has scored multiple road wins over the Kentucky Wildcats and Missouri Tigers. Should they win Saturday, they have a chance to finish sixth or seventh among SEC teams, which makes for a strong possibility that they end up in the Outback Bowl.
Saturday marks Senior Day for Tennessee football as well. The Vols technically have 14 players listed as seniors, but one of them, Brandon Kennedy, is seeking a sixth year of eligibility, so he won’t take part in the activities. In his place, though, is Darrin Kirkland Jr., who will be honored after being forced into early retirement before the season began.
Four of those other seniors, however, haven’t run out of eligibility just yet. Emmit Gooden, Brandon Johnson, Carlin Fils-Aime and Baylen Buchanan have all taken redshirts and could come back next year. So that leaves nine seniors being honored who have run out of eligibility after this year plus Kirkland as a 10th.
