Tennessee football: 10 toughest Vols to replace for 2020 season
Obviously, Tennessee football is going to miss both wide receivers as that leaves a giant hole for Jeremy Pruitt to fill. Even with proven guys like Josh Palmer and Brandon Johnson along with developing guys like Ramel Keyton, losing your top two receivers, a slot receiver and your starting tight end can wreck the passing game.

However, there is not doubt that Jauan Jennings tops the list of all those guys. A clear-cut playmaker known for the go-ahead touchdown in UT’s win over the Florida Gators in 2016 and then the Hail Mary to beat the Georgia Bulldogs a week later, Jennings was able to outdo even those plays last year.
His 59 receptions for 969 yards and nine total touchdowns don’t even tell the whole story. Jennings was a vocal leader who helped all the quarterbacks, whomever they were, come along. He also came through in big moments, as six of his eight receiving touchdowns resulted in lead changes. Leading the nation in yards after contact after catch is a big stat as well.
Simply put, Jennings was just a baller. So much of what he brought to the program will be missed severely, and that’s why he’s so high on this list. Jeremy Pruitt isn’t just replacing a go-to receiver. He’s replacing a go-to player and a leader, and that’s why he’s so high on the list. Even if other receivers have his talents, they may not have his gamer mentality.
