Four-star 2021 Baltimore LB Aaron Willis commits to Tennessee football
A second four-star in two days from Baltimore, Md. picked Tennessee football. Linebacker Aaron Willis committed to Jeremy Pruitt and the Volunteers.
After dominating the SEC for two weeks, Tennessee football is taking its recruiting successes to a more national level. Jeremy Pruitt started with a North Carolina commitment earlier in the week. Now, he has secured two elite prospects in two days from one school in the DMV.
Linebacker Aaron Willis, a 2021 four-star on Rivals out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md., committed to Rocky Top on Sunday. He’s the second player in two days from that school in Maryland to pick the Vols, following four-star defensive tackle KaTron Evans.
Willis is the No. 68 ranked player nationally, the No. 4 ranked player at his position and the No. 4 ranked player in the state of Maryland. He announced his commitment to Tennessee football with a video on Twitter honoring his mom on Mother’s Day.

With the commitment of Willis, Tennessee football’s No. 2 ranked class now has 20 prospects for 2021 and eight players with at least a unanimous four-star ranking or higher across all services. He and Evans are the first two players out of Maryland.
Over the past two weeks, the Vols have now secured 10 prospects, seven of whom are four-stars. Willis is the second linebacker commitment in the overall class, both of whom committed during this two week period. He follows four-star Terrence Lewis, a former Florida Gators commitment out of Hollywood, Fla.
At 6’0″ 200 pounds, Willis is listed as an inside linebacker on Rivals but an outside linebacker on 247Sports. As a result, it’s up for grabs where he will play. However, he clearly has a level of versatility that Pruitt wants. Here is a look at his highlight reel.
As you can see, Willis loves to hit, but he also has great speed and lateral quickness. Those are all necessary tools for playing linebacker He still needs to be able to keep those things while putting on some weight, and he needs to show more of his abilities to stay in the right position in college, but he has lots of tools already.
Given his versatility, Willis is helping Tennessee football reload its depth at linebacker in general. The losses of Darrell Taylor and Daniel Bituli at a unit that was still not fully stocked hurt things going into this year. However, with Willis and Lewis and the addition of three linebackers from Memphis in the 2020 class, things are looking up there now on Rocky Top.
