Tennessee football in top two for 2021 Alabama DE Trinity Bell
Another recruit trimmed his list with Tennessee football still in it. The Volunteers are in the final two for an Albertville, Ala. strongside defensive end.
After picking up another commitment, making the cut for another prospect and scheduling a visit for a junior college player all on Monday, Tennessee football made another cut on Tuesday. So Jeremy Pruitt still has them rolling.
UT is now in the final two for Alabama strongside defensive end Trinity Bell. A three-star on Rivals, Bell announced that Rocky Top was in his top five just last week. He now is down to UT and the Auburn Tigers.
Coming out of Albertville High School in Albertville, Ala., Bell is the No. 15 ranked player in the state of Alabama. He does not yet have a commitment date nailed down, but he announced that Tennessee football was in his top two on Twitter.

At 6’7″ 250 pounds, Bell brings an elite amount of size to the position. He actually is listed as a tight end on 247Sports, so Pruitt clearly would have options for him if he committed. We know he values versatile players.
The Vols could also use more strongside defensive ends, especially with three seniors in the rotation there this year, and Pruitt has been focusing on loading up there. Tight end is a bit more set for the future.
Of course, Pruitt already has one strongside defensive end committed for 2021 in three-star Florida prospect Darrell Jackson. He also has a weakside defensive end committed who is from Alabama in four-star Dylan Moses.
In 2020, the Vols added two strongside defensive ends in four-star Tyler Baron and three-star Reginald Perry, who is also from Alabama. So Pruitt is working on replacing the departing player, but he still needs more help.
Right now, Tennessee football is a unanimous favorite to land Bell on the Rivals Future Cast and a majority favorite to land him on the Rivals Fan Future Cast. There are no predictions for him on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, so he could still just as easily end up at Auburn. After all, he is indeed from the state of Alabama.
