Miami, Fla. wide receiver Brashard Smith is eyeing the Tennessee football Volunteers.

Jeremy Pruitt continues to make headlines on the recruiting trail for Tennessee football, and after a big commitment Wednesday night, the Vols began trending for another elite prospect. It’s like the momentum won’t end.

Rocky Top made the top five for 2021 wide receiver Brashard Smith. A four-star on Rivals out of Miami Palmetto High School in Miami, Smith was committed to the Florida Gators from January through May 1 of this past year.

Currently, Smith is a top 50 player at his position. In addition to Tennessee football, he still has Florida in his top five along with the Miami Hurricanes, Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks. His list was released Thursday on twitter.

If Smith were to commit to the Vols, he would be the third former Florida commitment from that state with at least a four-star rating in UT’s 2021 class. Safety Kamar Wilcoxson and linebacker Terrence Lewis both decommitted from the Gators.

At 5’10” 180 pounds, Smith would add to an already stellar group of young receivers. Pruitt secured three four-star commitments at that position in his 2020 class along with a three-star athlete who will likely play the position, and he already has two four-star commitments, a three-star commitment and a four-star athlete who could play the position for his 2021 class.

Simply put, Pruitt has gone above and beyond in trying to offset the losses of Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway and Tyler Byrd and the eventual losses of Brandon Johnson and Josh Palmer. With all of these guys along with the rising potential of Ramel Keyton, depth will certainly not be lacking at the position.

Right now, Florida is still a unanimous favorite on the Rivals Future Cast to land him. However, there are no predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, and Tennessee football is a favorite by a plurality to land him on the Rivals Fan Future Cast. So the Vols could definitely be in play for him going forward. After all, he didn’t decommit from Florida for no reason.
