Prince Kollie of Jonesborough, Tenn. has the Tennessee football Volunteers in his top 10.

Jeremy Pruitt already secured one elite 2021 athlete on the recruiting trail for Tennessee football this week. Now he’s got the Vols in the running for another one, and this guy is actually from within the state.

David Crockett High School standout Prince Kollie of Jonesborough, Tenn. announced that the Vols had made his top 10 on Thursday night. A three-tar on Rivals, Kollie is listed as a four-star on 247Sports and the 247Sports Composite ratings, and both of those sites have him listed as an outside linebacker.

In addition to Tennessee football, Kollie had the Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma Sooners, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Louisville Cardinals and Virginia Cavaliers in his top 10. He announced his list on Twitter.

Kollie, whose family moved from Liberia when he was one or two years old, could end up playing safety or linebacker, according to Ryan Callahan of GoVols247. At 6’1″ 197 pounds, Kollie definitely appears to have the body of a safety right now, but he could certainly add size before he signs with anybody next year.

Jeremy Pruitt has been focusing heavily on outside linebackers and edge rushers in general, so Kollie could certainly fill a void there. However, safety has a void this year specifically, meaning it might have one next year, due to the departure of Nigel Warrior and the need for Trevon Flowers to get back from injury.

Simply put, Kollie could build up critical depth on Rocky Top regardless of where he plays, so UT should definitely pursue the East Tennessee native heavily. His versatility will be an even bigger plus, as Pruitt will have more options for handling his depth.

Right now, there are no projections for Kollie on the Rivals Future Cast and 247Sports Crystal Ball. However, Tennessee football and Notre Dame are tied as the favorites on the Rivals Fan Future Cast. So the Vols are certainly in a good position to land him early.
