Memphis, Tenn. area 2022 athlete Dallan Hayden is eyeing the Tennessee football Volunteers.

Aaron Hayden rushed for over 2,000 career yards, averaged over five yards a carry and scored 14 total touchdowns in four years with Tennessee football from 1991 to 1994. The Vols, meanwhile, pride themselves on securing legacy players and in-state talent.

Well, those things could be coming together. Hayden’s son, 2022 athlete Dallan Hayden out of Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, has the Vols in his top four along with the Florida State Seminoles, Auburn Tigers and Virginia Tech Hokies, according to a report from Khari Thompson of The Commercial Appeal.

Florida State and Virginia Tech could be the biggest of competition for Tennessee football, as both of them are led by the two most recent head coaches of the Memphis Tigers, Mike Norvell and Justin Fuente respectively. However, Auburn is still always a threat on the recruiting trail.

Right now, Hayden has no ratings on Rivals. His older brother, Chase Hayden, committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2017 as a four-star all-purpose back. However, he recently transferred to the East Carolina Pirates.

Dallan Hayden, who stands at 5’11” 185 pounds, doubles currently as a cornerback and a running back. If he focuses in on one position, he could probably turn into a star pretty quickly, but how his size develops will be a big deal in the future as well.

With Tim Jordan, Ty Chandler and Carlin Fils-Aime all entering their senior seasons, Jeremy Pruitt is certainly going to want some more depth among all-purpose backs going forward, so Hayden could fill that void. He could also fill a void at cornerback, though, as cornerbacks Alontae Taylor and Bryce Thompson will certainly be gone in 2022 and could be gone by 2021.

Right now, there are no favorites to land Hayden on the Rivals Future Cast. However, Tennessee football is a unanimous favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast, and they are also a unanimous favorite on the 247Sports Crystal Ball. So they are clearly in good standing with this legacy talent, but they still have to keep pushing for him.
