Jeremy Pruitt lured the Savannah, Tenn. tight end to the Tennessee football Volunteers.

After nearly a month with no commitments, Tennessee football finally got another elite pickup to add to its No. 2 ranked national recruiting class Monday morning. This time, Jeremy Pruitt didn’t have to go too far.

In-state tight end Hudson Wolfe became Rocky Top’s 24th commitment for 2021. A four-star on Rivals, Wolfe comes out of Hardin County High School in Savannah, Tenn., making him the third commitment from the state.

At 6’6″ 235 pounds, Wolfe is the top-ranked tight end nationally, the top-ranked player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 40 ranked player overall. He announced his commitment to Tennessee football in a video interview posted to Rivals.

In addition to being the third player from the state of Tennessee, Wolfe joins three-star Miles Campbell out of Georgia as the second tight end committed for 2021. Reloading this position was a big deal for Pruitt given the fact that nobody committed at tight end in 2020.

With Austin Pope entering his senior season and Princeton Fant and Jordan Allen both entering redshirt junior years, the Vols could not afford to go another year without a pickup here given the fact that Dominick Wood-Anderson just left. Wolfe and Campbell will join a rising group of underclassmen in 2021 that includes Sean Brown, Jackson Lowe and Jacob Warren.

Currently, Wolfe is more of the size of a receiving tight end given the fact that he is under 240 pounds. However, he has plenty of time to put on weight, and his height will be a huge advantage no matter what. Here is a look at his highlight reel.

As you can see, Wolfe has incredible hands and shows impressive speed and agility for a tight end. However, the level of competition in southwestern Tennessee outside of Shelby County is questionable, so he will have things to prove at the next level.

Still, Wolfe clearly gives Tennessee football a receiving advantage that Jim Chaney has been looking for at tight end. He also brings with him a lot of hype, being the 10th player with no worse than a four-star rating across all services to commit to this class. So once again, Pruitt and the Vols have momentum for 2021, as they continue to load up with talent.
