Other potential prospects

Tyler Beasley:

More from Vols Football

With Chris Weinke coaching quarterbacks and Brian Maurer on the roster, Tennessee football obviously has a deep connection to Florida. There isn’t much to know about Tyler Beasley right now. He is a dual-threat quarterback being recruited by Weinke. The Vols have offered and are listed as the only school on his radar right now. So this one is completely up in the air.

Jack Stephens:

  • Ratings: None
  • Size: 6’0″ 160 pounds
  • High School: Evangelical Christian
  • Hometown: Cordova, Tenn.

Rocky Top is in the top four for Jack Stephens along with the Indiana Hoosiers, North Carolina Tar Heels and Ole Miss Rebels. Mike Canales was recruiting him three years ago when he was with Butch Jones at UT. However, no offer is on the table yet for the pro-style Memphis area prospect. It’s hard to see anything changing on that front given what Jeremy Pruitt is trying to build.

Neyland Jean:

  • Ratings: None
  • Size: 6’2″ 205 pounds
  • High School: Baylor School
  • Hometown: Chattanooga, Tenn.

Sticking with in-state guys interested in the Vols, Neyland Jean clearly comes from a family that likes UT. Heck, his name is Neyland. He has received no offer yet from the Vols, but the Florida Atlantic Owls, who were just led by Lane Kiffin and are a rising program, offered the drop-back passer. So pay attention to what happens with him in the near future. Things could change quickly.
