Evaluating Tennessee football’s 2021 LB class at dead period
Final take
With J.J. Peterson, Quavaris Crouch, Henry To’o To’o all set to be sophomores this year, albeit Peterson being a redshirt sophomore, Tennessee football has solid depth already for the future at linebacker. Recruiting has only helped that.

Securing commitments from Martavius French and Bryson Eason in 2020 and Aaron Willis and Terrence Lewis in 2021, all of whom have four-star ratings, make sure the Vols are going to be set there for a while. Four-stars Tamarion McDonald in 2020 and Kaemen Marley in 2021 both can play the position as well.
Simply put, in combination with the edge rushers we named, Jeremy Pruitt has stocked up with guys who can play inside and outside linebacker. The Vols should be in good shape going forward, and if nobody leaves, they would be able to go seven-deep in 2022. That’s a great situation for them to be in.
Although they could probably stand to add one more linebacker, they shouldn’t waste a scholarship on an underwhelming one. As a result, they should be fine going forward, and they have plenty of time to reload their situation in the future, particularly when it comes to the inside linebacker position.
Prediction
With the lack of necessity to add another linebacker, Tennessee football is not going to add another linebacker. The Vols are too loaded at the position as is, and while there is hope behind Smael Mondon, he’s clearly going to the Georgia Bulldogs. As a result, UT’s linebacker class is set when it comes to recruiting for 2021.
