Tennessee Lady Vols add graduate transfer guard from Western Michigan
Jordan Walker transferred to the Tennessee Lady Vols. The women’s basketball Volunteers got her from WMU.
Kellie Harper now has two graduate transfers who will be eligible to play immediately. Three and a half months after adding 6’1″ Liberty Flames transfer forward Keyen Green, the Tennessee Lady Vols have added a guard.
Jordan Walker, who has been with the Western Michigan Broncos over the past three years, has now transferred to UT as well. At 5’8″, Walker is coming off a season in which she averaged nearly 16 points and over six rebounds, two assists and two steals a game.
Because she only played for WMU in 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 while sitting out 2018-2019 due to a medical redshirt, Walker will actually have two years of eligibility with the Tennessee Lady Vols. UT announced the addition of her on its women’s basketball Twitter page.

With the transfers of Zaay Green and Jazmine Massengill, UT was in desperate need of another guard. Walker doesn’t bring the athleticism they did, but she is a better shooter. After all, she shot 31.7 percent from three last year and hit two a game from beyond the arc.
As a result, Walker can join Jessie Rennie to help stretch the floor a heck of a lot better. Combine them with Jordan Horston, who is still an elite, athletic combo guard on the team, and this team has a solid level of versatility in its backcourt now to go with its incredible length.
A native of Muskegon, Mich. who attended Mona Shores High School, Walker was actually named Miss Basketball in Michigan back in 2017. She was an elite recruit, but a devastating knee injury resulted in many Power Five schools looking, according to a report on her transfer earlier this week by Scott DeCamp of MLive.
After suffering another knee injury her sophomore year despite starting all but one game her freshman year, she appeared to be in big trouble. However, such a strong performance this past year dramatically increased her profile, and once she graduated, Power Five schools everywhere came calling in. Her decision to choose the Tennessee Lady Vols is a big deal.
