The four-star Oak Park, Mich. offensive lineman has the Tennessee football Volunteers in his top eight.
Shoring up the offensive line in the 2021 Tennessee football recruiting class has been a recent focus of Jeremy Pruitt’s as the Vols have begun to trend for certain players in the trenches. Over the weekend, they got more news on that front.
Michigan offensive lineman Rayshaun Benny, a 2021 four-star tackle on both Rivals and 247Sports, announced that the Vols were in his top eight. At 6’5″ 270 pounds, Benny comes out of Oak Park High School in Oak Park, Mich. and is a top 100 player nationally on Rivals.
In addition to Tennessee football, Benny has the Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, LSU Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Kentucky Wildcats, Arkansas Razorbacks and Arizona State Sun Devils on his list. He announced the schools on Twitter.

As of right now, the Vols only have one commitment at offensive line, three-star Colby Smith out of North Carolina. With Trey Smith, Riley Locklear and Brandon Kennedy all seniors, Pruitt certainly has work to do to make sure he is able to continue reloading his line.
Benny could be another step to doing that. UT made the cut for him just three days after they made the cut for Yousef Mugharbil, another North Carolina offensive lineman. We reported on the recruitment of Mugharbil here.
Even with 23 commitments and the No. 2 ranked recruiting class, this is a big deal for Pruitt and his staff. They’ve got to make sure they add more power in the trenches, and getting a guy like Benny could help a lot with that.
Currently, the Michigan Wolverines are a unanimous favorite to land him Benny on the Rivals Future Cast and the 247Sports Crystal Ball. They are a majority favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast. However, he has not committed anywhere yet, and making the cut for him is all the reason for Tennessee football to continue its pursuit. Keep an eye on what happens with the Vols here.
