1. player. 93. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Power Forward. Tobias Harris. Philadelphia 76ers

Ninth year; 6’8″ 226 pounds

Throughout his pro career, Tobias Harris has struggled with stability. That started when he was a five-star freshman who committed to Tennessee basketball under Bruce Pearl, only to see his one season there be marred by Pearl’s NCAA troubles.

More from All for Tennessee

Those troubles resulted in an eight-game suspension and eventual firing, and the distractions turned a team with national title potential to a team that suffered a first-round exit in the NCAA Tournament. Harris then declared for the draft and was taken by the Charlotte Bobcats before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

In his first seven and a half seasons, Harris played for five different teams, and he was a part of six when you include Charlotte drafting him. He made one appearance in the NBA Playoffs during that time. However, in the final third of last season, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers, made his second playoff appearance, and has found stability with the franchise.

Brett Brown has used Harris and his teammate Josh Richardson to perfection. A stretch-four, Harris has averaged 19.6 points, over seven rebounds and over three assists through 72 games this year. He has been Philly’s most reliable player. His bubble play has been even better, as he’s averaging over 21 points and nearly eight rebounds.

As a result, heading into the NBA Playoffs this year, Harris is clearly Tennessee basketball’s best player. He may have become the best player on a Sixers team that has Ben Simmons. The postseason will be his best chance to showcase that.
