Tennessee football preview vs. Missouri: Live stream, game time, TV info
Here’s everything you need for the Tennessee football Volunteers at the Mizzou Tigers.
With a chance to get 2-0 in SEC play for the first time since 2016, Tennessee football will face the Missouri Tigers Saturday afternoon. Coming off a 31-27 win at the South Carolina Gamecocks, this will be the Vols’ home opener.
Mizzou heads into town with an 0-1 record under first-year head coach Eliah Drinkwitz after a blowout loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide last weekend. They fell behind 35-3 but did make the score 38-19 at the end.
Because of the LSU Tigers’ loss last week, Tennessee football enters this game with a seven-game winning streak, the longest winning streak of any team in the Power Five. Here’s everything you need to know about this matchup.

In his third year, Jeremy Pruitt’s program has a brutal slate this year, but winning at South Carolina last week, a toss-up game for UT, puts it on track for at least a .500 record. However, to remain on that track and have a chance to do better, they have to win this game. With a trip to the Georgia Bulldogs next week, they can’t overlook this game.

Drinkwitz has proven in the past that his offenses can take off early, and Mizzou has retained defensive coordinator Ryan Walters, so the rebuilding issues of a new coach that should favor Rocky Top aren’t really prevalent here. With a reeling LSU team up next and the Vanderbilt Commodores after that, they have an outside shot at 3-1 if they pull off the win here.
Simply put, the Tigers have a good bit to play for too. One storyline for this game is quarterbacks. Jarrett Guarantano was highly efficient for the Vols last week when it came to numbers, completing 19-of-31 passes for 259 yards, committing no turnovers and scoring two total touchdowns. However, accuracy issues became a major concern, as he missed many short throws.
On the other side, Mizzou has multiple quarterbacks and no clear starter. Last week, Connor Bazelak completed seven-of-14 passes for 68 yards but ran for a touchdown. Shawn Robinson, meanwhile, completed 19-of-25 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown. Neither player threw an interception, but Robinson had two fumbles and lost one.
Taking all this into account, this game could be intriguing, particularly with a noon kickoff. Tennessee football may be a double-digit favorite, but the Tigers are 5-3 against the Vols since joining the SEC in 2012. UT did win last year, though, with a 400-yard passing game from Guarantano. It’s the game that got them above .500 after their 1-4 and then 2-5 start.
