Despite their heavy reliance on the run-game, the Kentucky Wildcats have multiple offensive weapons that Tennessee football will have to handle. Jeremy Pruitt and Derrick Ansley have to render this offense one-dimensional.

In the run game alone, Christopher Rodriguez Jr. and Asim Rose are in the top 12 of SEC rushers with 184 and 170 yards respectively. Both are averaging over five and a half yards a carry. Rodriguez has three touchdowns, but Rose, who has one touchdown, actually has more yards from scrimmage, as he also has five catches for 45 yards.

The catalyst for that attack, though, is Terry Wilson, the quarterback. Wilson has 48 carries for 221 yards and three touchdowns, and he has also completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 463 yards and two touchdowns. He does have two turnovers on the year, including an interception, but they were both in the opener against the Auburn Tigers.

Wilson’s abilities as a dual-threat quarterback are what make this entire offense go. It all comes back to him behind that massive offensive line. Wideout Josh Ali has 18 catches for 208 yards, but he is being covered by Bryce Thompson, and the Vols haven’t had issues with wideouts when Thompson and Alontae Taylor were both starting. Their issue has been slot guys and tight ends.

As a result, Wilson is the guy Tennessee football will have to worry about the most. If he doesn’t turn the ball over, he can be dangerous. UT’s edge rushers have to do their best to contain him, and the line has to get a push so he can’t make the right read on running plays.
