Here is a preview of the Tennessee football Volunteers against the Crimson Tide.

In the midst of a two-game losing streak and coming off a 34-7 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats, Tennessee football will be desperately looking to avoid falling below .500 Saturday. Standing in their way will be the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide, who are ranked No. 2 in both polls.

Coming off a 41-24 win over the Georgia Bulldogs, who were ranked No. 3 at the time, Alabama travels to Knoxville as heavy favorites. In addition to being on a two-game losing streak, UT is on a 13-game losing streak to Alabama, all with Nick Saban at the helm.

Saban will also be coaching against another one of his former assistants, Jeremy Pruitt. After beating Kirby Smart again last week, he is now 22-0 against former assistants and has beaten one each of the last three weeks. Simply put, Tennessee football will have to end lots of streaks to win this one. Here is all the information you need for the game.

More from Vols Football

Last year, UT lost to Alabama 35-13 on the road. However, a bad roughing the passer call against Darrell Taylor and a decision by Jarrett Guarantano to go rogue on a 4th and goal from the one-yard line, which resulted in a fumble returned the other way from a touchdown, kept it from potentially being a tie game  in the fourth quarter.

After that loss, Rocky Top went on an eight-game winning streak, carrying over to the start of this year, before losing the last two weeks to Georgia and Kentucky. That dropped them from being in the top 15 of both polls to out of the top 25 altogether.

This week, Tennessee football will be looking to get back into the win column, but if they don’t, they’ll have to wait another two weeks, as they have a bye next week before facing the Arkansas Razorbacks.  Up next for Alabama will be a home game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
