Tennessee Lady Vols 2020-2021 preview by position: Frontcourt
Final take
Despite the loss of Lou Brown, the Tennessee Lady Vols have a very experienced frontcourt that should become a huge advantage this year if used right. Kellie Harper has all the pieces in place to make this team dominant down low.

When you break it down, UT returns everybody but Brown. Included in that is a five-star center who started all last year as a true freshman and should now be much more experienced. There is another center who should be more experienced this year as a backup. Then you have two seniors within the program who have developed well under Harper, one a center and one a forward.
Newcomers include a graduate transfer who averaged double figures at this level every season in her career and an overseas prospect who can stretch the floor with her sharpshooting. Simply put, the Lady Vols have an elite shooter, three seniors, three centers 6’4″ or taller and rising stars.
All of this should be enough to make the inside presence dominant. Last year, the Lady Vols were third in the nation in rebounding with just under 46 a game thanks to how tall they were, and that shouldn’t see any sort of drop-off this year. In fact, with the tallest players being the youngest, there should be an improvement on that front.
The The Tennessee Lady Vols have a length advantage not to be messed with, and they are also elite defenders. Harper can win the old-school Pat Summitt way with defense, rebounding a dominating in the post. This unit is perfectly built to allow for that.
