Tennessee football: Not playing boosts Vols in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Did not play
If anybody was upset about last weekend’s postponements, it was the Alabama Crimson Tide. Nick Saban’s team was ready to get revenge on beating the LSU Tigers, and they weren’t able to pull that off.

What makes this tricky, though, is that this game can’t be made up on Dec. 12, as LSU already has a make-up game that day, but it can’t move to Dec. 19 if Alabama, as expected, wins the SEC West and plays for the SEC title. Let’s look past that for now, though.
Alabama is as dominant as ever. Tennessee football fans saw first-hand what Mac Jones and that offense can do to defenses, as they torched the Vols through the air. They’ve been doing that to teams all year, regardless of how elite programs have been.
Taking that into account, they clearly belong at the top of our SEC Power Rankings, and given how they dominated the second best team in these rankings, the Texas A&M Aggies, they may seem unbeatable. Another unplanned bye week to only get better could be dangerous for future opponents. But who are those future opponents?
Up next for the Tide are the Kentucky Wildcats, Auburn Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks. Assuming they don’t slip up against Arkansas, they can clinch the West without playing LSU and finish 9-0, but not playing LSU could become an issue.
