Whether or not Bo Nix plays well at quarterback is a big deal. However, if he does, he’s got a litany of weapons to choose from. While all the focus will be on Seth Williams, though, Tennessee football should worry about Anthony Schwartz.

More from Vols Football

The product of American Heritage High School in Florida is second on the team in receiving with 38 catches for 422 yards and two touchdowns. Sure, Williams leads the way with 28 catches for 511 yards and three touchdowns, but the Vols’ issues this year have consistently been with smaller, speedy receivers and No. 2 wideouts drawing less attention.

Mike Woods of the Arkansas Razorbacks was the No. 2 receiver there and really got things going for the Hogs. Jaylen Waddle of the Alabama Crimson Tide had a season-ending injury against UT, but John Metchie III, not DeVonta Smith, became the leading receiver with 151 yards. Shi Smith, a slot receiver for the South Carolina Gamecocks, had 140 yards and a touchdown agains the Vols.

Schwartz fits the profile on both fronts. He’s the No. 2 guy, but he’s also smaller and quicker than Williams. As a result, he’ll be the dangerous guy the Vols have to watch out for on Saturday, and if they don’t contain him, they’re in for a long day.
