There was never any doubt to begin with about the Alabama Crimson Tide, and they proved it again on Saturday by dominating the Kentucky Wildcats. We don’t even have much to say about how dominant Nick Saban’s program is.
As a result, it’s pretty obvious that this team is at the top of our SEC Power Rankings. Mac Jones is a Heisman Trophy contender as much as anybody, and outside of the Ole Miss Rebels game, this team has shown nothing to be concerned about.
However, they can’t coast. Believe it or not, the SEC West is not locked up. By beating Tennessee football last week, Auburn still remains in contention for the division, and the Tide and Tigers meet in the Iron Bowl this weekend, a huge matchup.
After that, they still have to visit the Arkansas Razorbacks. If they lose to Auburn but beat Arkansas, that could throw a wrench in the scheduled Dec. 19 SEC Championship, as Alabama would have to make up that LSU Tigers game then with the West up for grabs.
The SEC will obviously have to cross that bridge when it comes. For now, just admire how elite of a program Alabama is and the type of success it is having. Amidst all the drama, the dominance of Saban’s team remains a constant.
