Well, the Gators also allowed a 75-yard touchdown run against the Georgia Bulldogs on the first play of the game. One week later, they allowed an 83-yard touchdown run in their shootout win against the Arkansas Razorbacks. That was just on the ground.
Through the air, it was even worse. Florida allowed touchdown passes of 47 and 82 yards against that same Arkansas team. They allowed another touchdown pass of 46 yards against the Ole Miss Rebels and one of 51 yards against the Texas A&M Aggies. Heck, they even allowed a 58-yard touchdown pass against the atrocious Vanderbilt Commodores.
Florida gives up big plays. Tennessee football, meanwhile, scores on them. Josh Palmer has touchdown receptions of 32, 36, and 27 yards twice. Jalin Hyatt has a 38-yard touchdown catch and another 48-yard reception. These guys can score on big plays through the air, so if they want to keep this thing close, they need to find a few more of them.
