Tennessee football still in bottom tier of Week 14 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated LSU Tigers 55-17
Well, Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide got their revenge on the LSU Tigers for last year’s loss over the weekend. Just as they have been doing all year, they have made teams look to not be close to the same class as them.

Bama clinched the SEC West in the process and will now play the Florida Gators, who clinched the SEC East with their win over Tennessee football, for the SEC Championship on Dec. 19. It’s the most commonly played SEC Championship game dating back to 1992, and once again, a national title will be on the line when they face off.
What’s impressive is how the Tide have blown out good teams. They are atop our SEC Power Rankings, but the No. 2 team, the Texas A&M Aggies, never threatened them. The Georgia Bulldogs, who are No. 4 in our rankings, played them tough for a half but then got blown out.
Mac Jones and Kyle Trask are locked in a Heisman battle, and Jones did his part last weekend too. The best part of this is how the SEC Title game could determine who wins the award. Before looking ahead, though, they are just like Florida. They have one more game to get past, and it’s at the Arkansas Razorbacks.
That should be a clear win, but you never know what could happen. Tennessee football did ruin its title chances with an upset loss to the LSU Tigers in 2001 when LSU was led by Nick Saban, and Florida plays LSU Saturday. The thrill of the Florida-Alabama depends on these teams winning.
