Tennessee football stock report after Week 14 of 2020
Stocks to buy
Special teams
Saturday against the Florida Gators was the worst special teams day of the year for Tennessee football, as Cimaglia missed an extra point, there was a failed fake punt and a kickoff return had a holding penalty. Nothing really went right, and things now look even more bleak with Brent Cimaglia opting out of the season.

However, Cimaglia was already showing significant regression, which can now be explained away due to an injury he suffered. Paxton brooks, meanwhile, had a solid day with multiple 50-yard punts and multiple punts inside the 20. He’ll likely take over for Cimaglia now, and he may be underrated. As a result, we say special teams is a stock to buy right now.
Wide receivers
Jimmy Holiday was the reason for that failed fake punt as he dropped an easy pass. Josh Palmer refused to go up for a jump-ball. These were issues for the wide receivers all night, and all of Velus Jones Jr.’s success came in garbage time.
Still, these guys have talent. They are just in a funk. Brandon Johnson showed promise early on in the game, and this is still a strength of the Vols when used right. Different quarterbacks in there were bound to shake up the rhythm. These guys will get better.
