More from All for Tennessee

Led by second-year head coach John Brannon, Cincinnati’s one loss on the year was 77-69 at home to the Xavier Muskateers. The Bearcats return three starters from a team that went 20-10 and won the American Athletic Conference Championship last year. They lost their leader in scoring and assist in Jarron Cumberland along with leading rebounder Tre Scott.

However, they do have back Keith Williams, who was second on the team in scoring last year and is averaging over 17 points a game this year. In addition to Williams, transfer point guard from the Michigan Wolverines David DeJulius is averaging double figures.

Last year, the Vols lost to the Bearcats 78-66 in Cincinnati. They are actually 1-6 all time in the series and haven’t beaten them since 1956. That gives them something to play for when the two teams tip off Saturday.

After this game, Tennessee basketball will host the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Tuesday Dec. 15. Cincinnati, meanwhile, will begin AAC play and host the South Florida Bulls on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
