Defensive tackle Lee Hunter is the standout talent of the guys they could flip. Hunter, a four-star across the board, committed to the Auburn Tigers on Dec. 3, but their coaching situation is up in the air with Gus Malzahn fired. Kevin Steele recruited Hunter, and Auburn is hinting at naming him head coach, but could that be just to keep guys like Hunter?
Simply put, the Vols could be in play to flip him. Beyond him, though, UT may be targeting defensive end Travali Price and offensive lineman Jayden Tate, who are committed to the N.C. State Wolfpack. They also could be going for wide receiver Davis Mallinger, who is committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Is there a chance they or any other players flip? It’s possible, but the top prospect for the Vols is clearly Hunter. He’s the most elite prospect of the guys we named and committed to the least stable situation. Jeremy Pruitt should be calling him everyday trying to get him to flip this period.
