5. Which targets commit and possibly sign?

Flipping some elite talent could be the biggest added benefit to Tennessee football this week. However, the Vols still have some guys they appear to be targeting, and it would be great for them if some players signed.

More from All for Tennessee

Linebacker Trevin Wallace, a four-star across the board, is the most elite player they could be targeting this week. Similar to Lee Hunter, he also has Auburn Tigers connections, as the Rivals Future Cast, Rivals Fan Future Cast and 247Sports Crystal Ball all have Auburn as the favorites to land him by a majority.

However, with Gus Malzahn being fired so quickly, you have to think he’s looking to flip elsewhere. Wallace has already shown his propensity to decommit, as he had been committed to the Boston College Eagles from June until the end of November.

Beyond Wallace, defensive end Byron Young is another less heralded player that Auburn appears to be targeting, meaning he’s another guy the Vols could steal given the Malzahn situation. Both players are from Georgia. Then there is defensive back Juwon Gaston out of Alabama. Young and Gaston are both three-stars but could be valuable defensive players.

Simply put, Tennessee football has plenty of players it could snag a commitment from during the Early Signing Period. Keep an eye on if the Vols add any of the named guys or some other prospects to their roster for the 2021 class.
