Within the state alone, there are two quarterbacks generating buzz. Destin Wade, an athlete and a quarterback out of Summit High School Spring Hill, Tenn., has been eyeing the Vols, and they made his most recent cut. He is also the brother of elite linebacker Keaton Wade, another prospect Rocky Top is targeting for 2022.
Then there is Tevin Carter, who comes out of Memphis. He has 23 offers despite his school, Kirby High School, not being able to have a season this past year. Without the season, he joined the PURE Youth Athletic Alliances and managed to generate enough highlights to draw lots of interest. Both Carter and Wade are three-stars on 247Sports Composite but four-stars on Rivals.
Beyond in-state guys, though, there are plenty of other quarterbacks across the nation Heupel could target. Braden Davis out of Delaware is the son of VFL Antone Davis, and he is a four-star on Rivals and 247Sports Composite. Simply put, there are still plenty of options.
