Tennessee football: Top 10 QBs still available for 2022
1. Braden Davis
Hometown: Middletown, Del. (Middletown High School)
One of the highest-rated uncommitted QB prospects remaining on Tennessee football’s big board comes out of the small state of Delaware. Four-star Braden Davis is rated as the No. 186 overall recruit and the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback.

Currently, Davis holds 26 official offers, most notably from schools such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Florida. However, the Vols’ coaches shouldn’t shy away from the recruiting competition to land a player of his elite caliber.
The Under Armor All-American is a Tennessee legacy recruit. His father, Antone Davis, was a unanimous All-American offensive lineman with the Vols from 1987-1990. Also, his brother, Dakota, is currently a Football Recruiting Operations Assistant with the Vols, so UT clearly has some legitimate ties to this elite prospect.
Familial ties aside, Heupel and the Tennessee football staff should want Davis for his abilities on the field as well. He seamlessly steps up to make tight throws and has a quick enough release to escape unavoidable pressure. Although he was another player whose 2020 season was cut short, his offer sheet should be an indication that many other coaches think highly of Davis as well.
Tennessee football’s quarterback room is talented right now, but a QB-minded coach like Heupel is almost expected to add a gunslinger in his first recruiting class as UT’s head coach. Look for Heupel and Halzle to grab a commitment from one or two of these names as recruiting continues to heat up.
