Expected to take a touted offensive tackle early in the NFL Draft selection process, Zac Taylor’s team can use all the help it can get upfront on the O-Line. It was Cincy’s offensive line that took the blame for rookie quarterback and former first-overall selection Joe Burrow’s 2020 season-ending leg injury suffered in week 11.
Centers Billy Price and Trey Hopkins are both signed on with the club through 2022 with the latter expected to potentially miss time in 2021 due to a torn ACL from last season. Besides those two players, the Bengals have nobody else listed on their depth chart giving snaps.
In 2017, the Bengals selected former Vol Josh Malone in the fourth round, and currently, the squad lists former Vol DT Khalil Mackenzie as an active defensive lineman. As an organization that now has its franchise quarterback, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Cincinnati prioritized its offensive line in this cycle.
Currently, Kennedy is a late-round hopeful with a chance to sign with a club as an undrafted free agent. Even if he is passed up through the NFL Draft’s seven rounds, keep an eye on these five organizations to land the former Tennessee football center as a potential building block for success in the future.
