2 catches for 137 yards, 1 TD

Who would have thought that a walk-on wide receiver would be Tennessee football’s top performer in the passing game on Saturday? Well, such is the case for Jack Jancek, and he did enough to be placed at the top of this list.

Jancek was really the guy that got the high-powered passing attack started. After the White team went up thanks to a seven-yard touchdown run from Jaylen Wright, Janek caught a 73-yard touchdown pass from Harrison Bailey to tie the game. The pass was a beautiful pass, but Jancek still had to make a play on the ball, which was impressive.

That wasn’t Jancek’s only play in the game either. He later caught a 64-yard pass, once again proving what he can do on deep passing plays. At 6’5″ 220 pounds the local product certainly has the frame to be an elite deep threat, but nobody saw this coming from a walk-on. It was enough to put Jancek high up on this list.

Now, to be fair, there’s a caveat. Jancek was being guarded by a walk-on the whole time, which isn’t the same for other receivers. However, this is just a judgment of in-game performances, and you can’t deny Jancek’s results.
